I talked to the vet

Recommended Posts

Over the last five days Black Jack has been getting better and better with the help of resting and his meds. Not very much limping anymore, and he's wanting to play more than before he got hurt. So yesterday I talked to Dr. Smiley and he said that since Black Jack was doing so much better he thought it was a torn ligament. He did say that it could be OCD but he didn't think so since he whimpered while it was extended not retracted. But he's going to do some x-rays on him at the end of four weeks to be sure.

I asked him about the stock clinic coming up on Tuesday/Wednesday and he said that it was fine for him to work in the ring once a day (They're having to ten minute sessions each day) but if he showed any signs of limping to stop, which I was going to anyway.

I am so excited I can't even talk about it :D Even if I get to work with him once it will be worth it. I got all the paper work on it yesterday. My name is on the list of people in the ring!

That's sure good news. No injury is good, but if it's something that he can heal from straightforwardly, that's better. Since he was pretty inactive for a while before he came home with you, it seems likely to me that lack of condition could lead to an over-doing it kind of injury. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him, that he gets past this as Daisy did in the months after she came to us.
