collies4me
Hey Guys/Gals, Do any of you guys supplement your pups/youngters with addition vitamins/complexes? I know some dog owners give certain supplements that helps with to pre-vent/treat arthritis etc.. Is there anything that would be appropriate to start at 15-16weeks old? I was just at my vet, and I forgot to ask
stockdogranch
I just asked my holistic vet this same question a couple of weeks ago. Her reply was that because my dogs work stock (mostly cattle) every day of their lives, and I start them VERY young (so at like 5-6 months they are already doing quite a bit of serious work), I should go ahead and give them a glucosamine/chondroitin blend. She said to not use one with MSM, as it is an anti-inflammatory, and not necessary as a preventative. However, I think, based on her reply, that it depends on the level of activity for the dog, and at what age that activity begins. Seemed like she would say that *regular* puppy stuff would not need it. Anna
