L and M Ranch
Hi everyone. Has anyone used Chondroprotec and if so do you think it's comparable to Adequan? My vet recommended it for Zac as the Cetyl-M isn't doing a good enough job anymore. He broke his foot last July and there was quite a bit of damage to the joint so arthritis is going to be a problem from here on out I'm afraid. He will still work and put in a good day but favors that foot quite a little. I'd sure like to find him some relief without having him live on Rimadyl the rest of his life. Any side effects with the Chondroprotec or any other information I should know about too? I live in a very rural area and our vet's are all predominately large animal vets so don't have as much experience dealing with this sort of thing. G. Festerling
We used it in my guy with much success. My vet does not like it on the horses but has stated that she does like it a bunch on dogs. But there again, some seem to respond better to it than others. I had good luck with it! L and M Ranch
I started Zac on it Monday so we're keeping our finger's crossed that it'll be a good solution for him. How long did it take you to see results? Thanks, Laura
G. Festerling
I wish I could answer that. It has been a few years ago but if I remember right it did not take too long. We did give him a fes shots maybe a month apart? Just cant remember. After that we really just gave it too him when needed. Once we took the main inflammation out together with limited strenous excersise we managed him pretty well. He only had one good leg left. Two OCD surgeries and two hipsurgeries (dislocated hip) on the same side left him with some pretty significant athritis as he got older.
