INU
I saw a 3 year-old female BC lifting (not as high as males) everytime she pees. She still squats but then lift left leg (always the left). A year later, Jazzy started doing the exact same thing - left leg! It looks like she is trying to avoid peeing on herself but it's not really helping. It looks funny. Does your female BC (dog) do this?
Tassie
Yep, Kirra does (and my old Jess used to). But it's usually when she's having a peeing competition with the boys - covering a wee that Fergus or some other boy has done. I think Kirra tends to lift her right leg more than her left. It's not as high as the boys lift - but when I see it, it's a competitive wee rather than a normal one!
Kat's Dogs
Popcorn does. She is the top ranking dog of the three, but she is also the kind that hates to touch grass or anything dirty - so she might just be trying to keep clean, that is definitely something she would do! She ALWAYS does her right leg and never squats. The other girls squat, always.
ShoresDog
Always. I've never seen Daisy squat, ever. She always raises her leg and pees on trees or bushes. I'm glad to hear she's not the only girl-boy-pee-er.
smileyzookie
lol funny. Riven squats, waaaaaaay down, I think sometimes she's touching the ground lol.
Cheri McDonald
Briar is a leg lifter almost everytime.
jjean
Cinna is not a BC but she is a leg lifter. Like Kirra, it's usually to compete with the boys. She doesn't lift unless she's marking where another dog has gone. She is the queen of the pack.
Catu
Where I used to live there was a GSD mix in the neighborhood that did it, but just if with other male dog. In the house I lived there was a female, but the mix didn't lifted the leg in company of her, as this one was very submissive.
stockdogranch
It's usually a dominant female thing. All of mine do it, and not just when they need to pee, they're marking same as a male dog. Anna
Laurae
Sophie is a leg lifter. She was my first and only dog for four years, so it wasn't to compete with the boys, but she is definitely a dominant little thing . She also marks just as the boys do, and she pees over Taz's and any other dog's pee. At home, in my own yard, she doesn't lift her leg all the time, but she does every time we're out on a hike or anywhere else...
Allie Oop
Allie started marking outside about 3 mos. ago. She does this modified squat and right leg lift thing. (She also does the potty a go-go thing and keeps moving while she goes. )
nancy
How can Allie and Fergie be related? We're in North Carolina. Fergie often lifts her leg - even to aim at rocks, trees, posts, hydrants. And she does the moving poop - always has. Makes cleaning up after her a "treasure" hunt.
kcdawg
my females dont lift but, my male (almost 3) Wolfie, squats like a girl, always has. Also my other male 8 year old Casey lifts his leg to poop, we find poop on small chairs and tables and stuck in bushes!
bc friend
Sara squats to pee but lifts her leg to mark every pole, tree, bush, etc. on her walks! Katie never ever thought of lifting her leg.
Beth G
My male and female both recently began lifting their leg. Funny I'm not sure who taught who...lol.

SoloRiver
Fly lifts to pee -- and not just one leg, either. Usually she starts with one (the right) and then slowly, the other one comes up too, so that she is balancing yoga-style on her forelegs. It's quite remarkable. I'll have to get video of it. Her other peeing quirk is that she'll fake pee if I tell her to go and she doesn't need to.
abbies_mumma
Abbie doesn't but I've seen a female BC at the park do it.

Yes please! Or a photo... Kessie lifts (but only one leg at a time). Sometimes she squats when the ground is flat, but even then, she'll lift one foot a little bit, just because . Kyla squats.
