nowwown
Hi, Cody was neutered last Friday and the incision and everything is healing beautifully. After the first day, he was back to his energetic, bouncy and normal self, although we restricted his jumping and exercise for the last week. I have never had a male dog or had one neutered, so I have a question about the testes. They started out like large and empty sacs after the neutering and are slowly shrinking. Will they shrink to nothing or will he always have them swinging even though they're empty? I can't figure out how to ask that in a more "PC" way so any thoughts or comments are welcome. bc friend
The sac shrinks to nothing - barely noticeable.

Black Watch Debatable
"Hey, Sneaky. C'mere --- I gotta check something out." "Roll OOOver...!" [damn, he's strong ] Yep, pretty much invisible. He was neutered at two, and boy did those empty bags look big. (Sneak's nine now.) The vet told me that the older a dog is, the longer it takes for 'em to shrink, and that was certainly true in Sneak's case. (The vet said with some older dogs they never shrink that much.) marky48
Oh we were talking about dogs being neutered??? um Sorry couldn't resist.
airbear
LOL, I was a bit worried about this too. When Lou was neutered, it looked like he had a small purse down there. I am pleased to say that there is no sign of 'baggage' anymore. BTW, he was 4 when he got snipped, so the boys had some time to hang! Lunar
Oh yeah, when Zeeke was neutered (at 1 year old) I totally freaked out. I didn't think they left the big sacs just hanging there! But like the others have said they do indeed shrink up in time. (Thank goodness.)
Dixie_Girl
Or you could have some neuticals put in. Maybe some with chimes. That would make walks different!
Kat's Dogs
Linda! eeewwwwww! I just don't ever own boy dogs, so I won't have to deal with these sorts of wonders.

I would have agreed, but my hubby insisted on getting a male. Waahhh! I like my females, hehe.
WyoBC
They had already neutered Black Jack when I first saw him, but he did have some sacs hang down then too. Now there's nothing in sight. Linda, that would be a different walk. It would be so funny when people ask why they do that, or if they couldn't figure out where the noise was comming from
haleigh
lol, good thing I have girl...I would never let the vet snip an "outer extremity" if you must Not seeing the taking out my babies ovaries it much different, but....
Beth G
Lol... I must say this is my first male dog (though I've had many male cats neutered)and when Popcorn came home from the vet, he didn't even have an empty sac left!! Lol....They removed EVERYTHING!! Needless to say I was kind of shocked.
