SincereArtisan
My SO and I were readying to leave to see a midnight preview of 300. The dog crates are in the 'snake room,' and so I was doing a brief surveying of the snakes to be sure they were all in their places. Well, wouldn't you know it, my most valuable snake turned up missing!!! He escaped, the little bugger...and he never escapes! *Sigh* So minutes before we were to leave, we're tearing apart the room. In the midst of it all, Rune gets asked to leave her crate, so we can pull her bedding out to check. We eventually found him under a shelving unit. I set him back in his container with a meal, and set some heavy books on top of it. (Thats the problem with these critters, you think they're perfectly contained until they finally get the inkling to test your security methods. And to all of you who panic at the thought of a snake having the capabilities of escaping in the room with my dogs, the only ones in containers they could potentially break out of are far too small, and more likely to be harmed by either of my dogs than harm them an ounce.) So, we leave for the theatre, still a good 3 hours before the movie is due to start, we had grocery shopping to do anyhow. Movie is done, its roughly after 2am, and I make a bee line for the snake room to let Rune out to go potty. I enter the room, flip on the light......and voila. Rune, lying in her crate, with the door wide open. I stood there, blinked. Blinked again. Called my SO in to witness this. Not a THING was touched, out of place, moved, shredded, messed up....nothing. Just Rune, lying peacefully in her crate, with the door we'd so carelessly left open in all the hubbub and panic that preceded our departure. Needless to say, she's been praised up a storm since we got home.
Dixie_Girl
Good girl Rune!!!! She is either growing up and showing this off, or she was scared another "slithery" creature may still be loose!! LOL I love it when they just come out of left field to do something so cool!!!
WyoBC
That's a good girl Rune!! I bet she's loving all the hubbub around her now huh? Give her a big hug for me, and maybe a treat too. I would have been scared that another snake would be loose
