Cheri McDonald
Rob managed to pull down and eat, two of three suet cakes I had on the kitchen counter. GRRRRR!! I found most of the plastic wraps but not the two cakes which I am sure he consumed. This was Saturday night and by Sunday he had the trots really bad. What a mess and SMELL!! Fed him only pumpkin and white rice. Seemed to work, but man did he stink!! Note to self lock up ALL bird feed.
juliepoudrier
I feel your pain. When I was coming back from the finals in Sturgis in 2005, I stopped to visit my sister in St. Louis. The dogs got to stay in the basement, and we thought we had dog-proofed everything but no one thought about the suet cakes--except for the dogs, that is. Fortunately we didn't have an issue with bad runs, but when we took them walking in the nearby state park, we did have a few deposits that were quite full of bird seed (this was the kind of suet with birdseed included--yum!). You can bet we put up the remaining bird feeding items for the rest of my visit! J.
Allie Oop
Oh dear! Poor Rob! Allie hasn't ever eaten the suet, but she has eaten many, many, many of the fallen bird seeds. Urgh! I hope he is feeling better.
fooshuman
*giggles* And I would have thought it would be Briar who was the sneeky one! Give the pack a scratch behind the ear from Foo.
Cheri McDonald
Foos, normally Briar is the sneaky one! But Rob is my counter surfer not Missy Bri. I think while we were at the movie that night that the boys probably tangled over the bird food. They were pretty wary of each other on Sunday. They are both food aggressive with each other. I have worked on them since bringing Buddy into the pack and can now feed them side by side, but we can not and do not leave any chews or treats around and I don't leave the room until everyone has finished eating. Give Zag and the girls a scratch from us too!
Aerie
Poor puppy! Recon's only managed to sneak things off the counter twice - usually i'm good about keeping things put away if she's going to be loose in the house, but sometimes I just don't think about things. Like the oranges she got into the other day - what dog actually eats oranges, peel and all? Yeah. Her mess was a bit orange, and I was amused. Of course, I was more horrified and worried over her getting sick, but, yeah, she just had fresh breath for a day or two.
WyoBC
Poor puppy, the runs are terrible. I hope she's feeling better. Black Jack likes to get the bird seed that falls on the floor too. But he doesn't get very many most of the time
shanni and kingsley
ohohohoho...hope Rob recovers soon. speaking of counter top surfing.. kingsley got hold of 2 huge pieces of cuttlefish (dried squid).. stinky and smelly enough on its own - which i didn't discover until he threw them up in the car. Puke smell and cuttlefish smell.. is horrenous in the car. and combined with Singapore's heat.. the smell itself is pukeworthy once the doors are opened! i've been cleaning my car for the past few days trying to get rid of the smell. Going to drown the interior with Febreeze tonight. Sigh.. Anyone remembers the Seinfield episode with the car with the bad BO smell? i believe that is what i'm going through now.
