Questions about poop / semi rant due to lack of sleep

:rolleyes::D :D :D :D :D

That about shows how I feel right now.... Not that my muffins are gone.... but that Peter Wicket has SUCH a LARGE desire for food that he will do ANYTHING to get it. which is causing a lot of bad poop.

he will get food out.... and Shelby (being a bitch as per usual) will eat it all and most likely fight him for it.

I have been leaving them out the last few days while I have left for 20 minutes... I have been dog proofing the apt. but it seems no well enough. Peter Wicket and Shelby have managed to open doors, escape crates and get food off the TOP of my fridge... O and Pete can open cabinets. ... I learn each time I leave them out, another way they can cause me misery.

Peter wicket has a very abnormal food drive. I have to bag and double bag any not refrigerated food. about two days ago I thought I had all this solved by double bagging 3 costco muffin and putting them on me fridge behind some coffee and some small oranges and a large round thing of Oatmeal. I figured that they would be safe.... I figured wrong.... Not Only did they get into the TP in the bathroom... (which Wicket Opened the door for) but they somehow managed to get down my muffins.. Wicket is doing fine, but now shelby is non stop pooping...... liquid poop... it started yesterday about four and I figured that she was all done last night.

we didn't sleep at all last night, but she never told me that she needed to potty , so she just jumped on and off and on and off the bed all night. and again didn't tell me that she needed to potty right away this morning... ( I don't usually take them out until after I shower and get dressed. ) So as in any other normal day I take them into the bathroom with me for my shower ( started doing this so I could make sure they didn't pee or poo while I was showering. I normally just leave the door open and they lay in there, but I just got a new roommate...) and all of a sudden this HORRIBLE HORRIBLE smell wonders past the pleasant smell of shampoo!!! Shelby is squirting everywhere. while looking at me pleading to not get in trouble.... of course she didn't, she couldn't control it any longer. I brought her in the shower with me to wash her off and she does it again as soon as she is out of the shower. and then again outside.... but there was so much in the bathroom I had to stand on the toilet to get out of the shower without getting poo on me!!! I had to go to work... and now I am worrying.... I left her in the bathroom and layed out newpaper on the floor and put down an old torn apart blanket for her to sleep on. and a large bowl of water so she doesn't de-hydrate.

Should I let this just pass on by or take her to the vet when I get home? I didn't feed her this morning. I was afraid of re upsetting her tummy.

BUT on a side note..... I get to see how Wicket will do without her in the crate with him. something that has not been done for all day.

Sounds like all "loose in the house" privledges need to be revoked. Have you thought about getting latches for cupboards and door knob covers like parents use to baby proof houses?

As for the upset tummy - fast Shelby for 24 hours then put her on a bland diet (boiled chicken/rice or pumpkin and rice, or just pumpkin - use canned pumpkin not pie filling). Make sure she's getting enough water. If things don't clear up soon, take her to the vet. Upset tummies are no fun!

I begain putting up the child locks on the cabinets yesterday, the garbage is now kept on the porch. I am bringing home a second crate.... ( I have always crated them together because of wickets SA from Shelby, but I need to work on that anyway. I feel so.... BAD I feel like I have been a bad mommy, and this is all my fualt.... which it is!!

I just want her to feel better. if she isn't better tonight, we will be making a vet trip.

Thank you for you suggestions!

Poor Shelby. I hope she's feeling better soon. An upset tummy is never fun. It always makes you feel like the worst person in the world when you have to make them feel better, or when they get into stuff. But remember, they still love you and you still love them  Remember that and everything will be ok.

I'm glad you didn't get mad at her for going in the bathroom. They arn't always the best at telling you when they need out.

Poor shelby. Hope she is feeling right as rain real soon.

I agree. If she doesn't feel better soon you might want to take her to the vet.

What kind of muffins did she eat?

Has any foil or plastic that had been on the muffins gone missing? She might have consumed that too.

I hate to say it but thank God for crates. I'd rather have a poopy dog and crate, than a poopy house....it contains the mess. Making it easier to clean up.

ALRIGHT!!

Shelby is feeling better. I had my boy friend go and check on her for me while I was at work and while he said she seemed a little sad for being put into the bathroom all day. she hadn't poo'd anymore. and as soon as I got home and let her out and let wicket out, she made sure he didn't do anything to her crate  lol She is feeling much better and already back to her normal mischief. silly puppy....

On that note though, I am now crating them apart and they are on NILF. this goes for sleeping with me and everything... until they understand that I am boss.... *sigh* its harder for me then for them....
