Deb Mickey
I understand the duo is heading west this Sunday for the big trial in Oregon (the National Finals!). Good luck, Mark. May your runs be smooth and accurate! And don't forget to have fun!

Lana
We look forward, Mark, to you coming out here and to everyone else who is making the long trip. The weather is currently predicted to range from highs of 75 to 83 and lows as low as 27 so bring layers! Although this is the third time I have been one of the organizers for the Finals, it will be the first time for me to compete. Not sure how competitive I will be with an old dog who is just getting over kennel cough and not having time to hardly look at my dogs with all the Finals prep. We start building fence this weekend. If anyone is in town, feel free to come out and help! Geri
bcollie
OK, that was weird. I posted a reply and it logged me in as Lana. Guess she used my computer to post when she was here visiting. The last message was from me, Geri, not Lana. Although Lana will be here building fence. Her dog isn't old, though. Sue R
Mark - I met Geri in Ireland last summer and she is really, really nice. Everyone I talked to couldn't say enough nice about her, especially as she went out of her way to help folks who were having some issues with travel back home, if I remember right. And her Mom is a real sweetheart, too.

Pipedream Farm
I dropped them off at the airport this morning. On the way back, I saw a double rainbow. Must be a good sign, right? I'm crossing my fingers that Jody behaves herself! Renee
Sue R
You are worried about Jody? What about Mark? I'm sure they will do a great job and we'll all be cheering for them.
Rebecca, Irena Farm
Mark and Jody made the cut! I know it's kind of late for congrats on that achievement but hey, better late than not! I got busy and didn't get back to the nursery scores today until nursery was pretty much over. I heard the sheep were very tough so a very big round of applause to everyone with their young dogs. I'm looking forward to the full report - we who were left behind need the vicarious experience, please.
DeltaBluez Tess
....your roving reporter............. Fact #1. Mark and I are cousins. 2nd distant or something like that. Fact #2. Sheep were tough. Much easier to run in the morning, in afternoon pert near impossible to run. Fact #3. I have no fingernails left from watching Scott run my Kane It was even hotter today....i didn't think it could get hotter but it was hot, hot and hot...and did I mention it was HOT. Morning runs went a lot smoother than afternoon runs. Sheep were super cranky and in one run, one decided to take a siesta at the first drive panels...in other runs, the left hand drive was near the exhaust so the sheep had a heavy pull to that....tough, and the sheep went everywhere but where you wanted them to. Mark and Jody had a great start but Jody started to get pumped up and Jody went for a joy ride on an ewe.....she want the crowd to get the full visual effect so she did it in front of the judge. Jody is a really nice dog and I am sure Mark will not notice that I slipped her into my suitcase??? Kane (run by Scott) was amped like a hot wire and had a *sporty fetch* and at that point I was glad I was sitting on the bleachers instead of standing at the post like Scott was....boy, that Scott can handle a dog and he ended up 10th oeverall. Scott laid down a super sweet run with Terry's Mick....and it was SWEET.....that dog is hot!! About as hot as the day was. Haley laid a postcard perfect run with her Ross. She had the crowd in total silence and the roar after her run could be heard back in Klamath Falls....it was a run of beauty!! Nursery was hard as it could be with quite a few DQ and RT and lows scores and as well as high score. Most of the high scores were in the moring or late afternoon.....mid day it was darn hard to get a high score with the heat, cranky sheep and so forth. It was great watching these runs and some of the top handlers and upcoming handlers at the post. One of our very own, Mark...is a good handler with class. Look out world, Mark is on a roll!! Pipedream Farm
Thanks guys. Mark said he was shaking even after his first run with Jody. This is Mark's first time competing at the nationals --major nerves! I sure would have liked to have been there to see all those nice runs we keep hearing about! Congrats to all! Renee
Sue R
I am proud that Mark and Jody qualified and made it into the final round. They did a fine job competing with the best, far from home, and on tough sheep. Congrats for courage to get out there and do the job! Congrats also to Scott Glen, running Terry's Mick, for second place overall. Congrats also to Scott Glen (again), running Diane's Kane, for tenth place overall. And congrats to Terry and Diane for their fine young dogs!
DeltaBluez Tess
What a long day....did sheep exhaust in the morn and was *Vanna White* for most of the runs....meaning parading around the crowd with the scores on the whiteboard. It was a tough semi for the Opens......but there were some great runs....Bev Lambert just rocked with a 197 (?). Haley and Dionna went around the course with her just doing the doggie whisper, all quiet and calm. Scott (and Pleat and Sweep), both runs, were a great display of great handling. Roy Taber and Biscuit, from the cow dog scene, were just AWESOME......wow, this guy is the black horse!! Comes out of nowhere and just set the crowd on their ears.....he and his little dog were a real class act. I had just met him a few days after he qualified and he is the down to earth, all around NICE guy. Sheep, once again had the heavy draw to the exhaust or if pushed too hard would stand and fight. Tomorrow we start at 7, don't know if I can post as I am on the road to go home.... ON A SIDE NOTE: Mark was the chaparone for 8 women at the restaruant tonight. He was the only guy and he took our ribbing quite well. He is a very nice person and I can't wait to meet his lovely bride, Renee!! He is a five star classy guy and we all enjoyed his company. It sure was great to put a face to a lister!!! Off to hit the sack...... Diane...now the weary reporter
