Toby the Puppy
My husband and I run our business from our home. This morning he gave me a cheque from one of our customers. I was making up the bank deposit and I couldn't find the cheque, my heart immediately dropped, I just knew where it was. Luckily I found most of the pieces. I phoned my bank manager friend and she told me I can still deposit it as I have the important bits still. Good thing everyone concerned has a great sense of humour!! Poor Toby has been bouncing off the walls these past two days, we are having a real cold snap and when I take him outside to excercise his feet freeze up. The lack of walks is really taking its toll. MaryP
You'll have to call him the $14,000 dog now.
Anda
LOL, at least you were able to still cash it That's gotta be the most expensive thing any of our dogs ate I'll keep that in mind next time my dog eats a receipt (oh, wait, that was just last night )
Painted1
I'm glad you can still deposit it!! That was an expensive snack for Toby! (Let him know to eat off the $1 menu next time!!)
Dixie_Girl
Oh, wow! That was lucky! Thank goodness you were still able to cash it! I wouldn't leave any cash laying around! Talk about expensive tastes!
bcnewe2
I could just see you calling your client trying to explain exactly what happened to their check. Or for that matter explaining to your DH if the check was gone! Glad you have an understanding bank. Wonder if the customer will see a copy of the check when his next statement comes out. Talk about the dog eating my homework! What a story this will be years and years from now! We know Toby's tastes run with high end items. Careful, he might want a new car next! Rolf
A $14.000 menue and still hungry. What a story. How good the bank handled this case. And it is very good to have such a happy end.
IronHorse
I dunno I am thinking that this could somehow allow a business tax deduction on dog food. To funny, lol

Bill Fosher
At least it was $14,000 CDN, not USD. Not that there's that much difference these days, thanks to our newfound budget defecit and the good old trade defecit.
Vickkers
Wow, now that's bad! Right after we got Pepper from the owner that had her just before us, she ate her microchip papers... we still haven't been able to get that worked out because the former owner hadn't bothered to have the owner information switched over from the first owner... we had to have her microchiped again with our information just so we could be in there. When I tried calling the number on her first microchip tag the company said they wouldn't change it over without a letter from the first owner and they wouldn't give out that information. If she ever gets lost it's going to be an issue. But ... at least it wasn't a $14,000 check!
Allie Oop
Yikes! Glad that you were able to work it out. That's quite a tale.

Catu
The dog of a friend ate a roll of notes, in almost 1,000 USD. But fortunatelly the dog defecated them integrally, even with the rubber band.

Bo Peep
I once went to a trial and there were "biscuits" in my purse along with money and a bunch of stuff.( you know us women) lol. I had my purse in the canopy along with the dogs. duh. As soon as we got home, I let the 4 dogs (that I had at the time) into their play pen of an acre. I looked out the kitchen window & it appeared that maybe a stuffed animal was chewed up. no........I don't leave those in the "fun area", so I went to look and saw a little 10 in green ink. I have no idea how much money I had in my purse. I patched together about $17 dollars, maybe someone had a nice $50.00 dinner- who knows?
