Results of 2005 Hotchkiss Sheep Camp Stock Dog Trial

The 2nd annual Hotchkiss Sheep Camp Stock Dog Trials were held May 7th & 8th at Hotchkiss, Colorado. It included two full days of stock dog trials -- over 60 dogs competed on challenging unbroke yearling range ewes. Handlers braved rain showers most of Saturday and then Sunday starting out in the mid 30s but warming up to sun filled skies. The Novice course was 100 yd outrun, ProNovice & Nursery were 200 yd outruns with a 70 yd crossdrive, and Open was a 300 yd outrun with a 240 yd cross-drive. Open handlers and dogs faced a tough pen on the second day with the pen being a 16 ft stock trailer instead.
