Rave
A vet friend of mine has a 1.5 y.o. male BC who was just diagnosed with a weird problem. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it (claud-something), but it's where the veins in/near the spinal column go into spasm, making the dog ataxic. At first glance, it appears the dog has overheated b/c they temporarily lose control of the back legs (giving a "drunk" appearance), but the dog is alert and temp. is normal. After a minute of rest, the dog is fine. I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any experience with this condition? I think to the untrained eye, it would appear the dog has exercise-induced hypothermia. Thanks, Laura
Rave
The condition is called neurogenic intermittent claudication.
