carolync
Hero has what appears to be dime sized calluses on his front elbows. He's not itchy nor does he chew on them. He does tend to sleep more on hard surfaces, hardwood and tile floors, even though he has his own bed in the living room and my office. Should anything be done, creams, special baths, etc.? They don't seem to bother him one bit. Are there parasites that don't itch? The rest of his skin looks fine. Thanks! Carolyn
juliepoudrier
Carolyn, Lots of dogs who routinely lie on hard surfaces seem to ge those barespots on their elbows. It doesn't bother them--seems to be mainly a cosmetic thing.... J.
Cheri McDonald
It is just a callus. I know it bothered me when I first found them on Rob. Vet laughed at me when I got all worried about it. (Dumb me)

Betsy
Riley has those too. The vet didn't laugh at me, but did tell me they were completely normal. Betsy
Spike's Bitch
Spike has one on his black elbow but not his white one. My vet, bless her, did a skin scrape just to make certain. I think this was before I discovered the Boards.... Liz & Captain Spike xxx
