Michael Parkey
For some reason I couldn't figure out how to attach text to the first post, LOL. Levi is our blue merle border collie. He was 9 months old when the photos were taken in October on a camping trip. That's when we learned he LOVES water. Buddy is our 9 year old (assumed) English shepherd. They are both rescues. Levi actually came from a well-intentioned home that just didn't have enough time for him, so they did the right thing and rehomed him. Buddy wasn't so lucky, but after 8 years he has overcome almost all of his fears. Despite the difference in age and energy level, they have become great friends. GentleLake
Nice dogs! Hard to tell in the pic because much of Buddy's body's in the water, but he does look pretty English Shepherd to me too. And Levi's sure in that leggy stage in this pic! Love it. Michael Parkey
Here is another photo of Buddy, standing but very relaxed. His original rescuer thought he is border collie and kelpie, but that is very unlikely if only because kelpies are so rare. Our vet thinks he is Australian shepherd, and that is certainly possible even though he has his tail. But in looks and temperament, he most closely resembles an English shepherd. It doesn't matter, he is as good a dog as anyone could want. Levi may be even leggier at 12 months--he is going to be a big boy.
GentleLake
His tail and rear fringes have a lot more fur than the ESs I've known. It's quite possible he's a mix, perhaps with some spitz type breed in him
