urge to herd
I've found 3 ticks on Gibbs in the last 5 days. All were in the same area - a couple inches behind his left elbow on his side. I'm not that concerned about the ticks - I check him over daily and these little buggers didn't have any blood in them, so I know they weren't there very long. It is kind of weird to me that they were all in the same location. Like within a couple inches of each other. Anybody else notice anything like this? And the Revolution is working, I've found a couple dead ticks on the floor in the last week or so. Ruth and SuperGibbs
Riika
On my dogs the most common places to find ticks are behind the elbow/in the armpit, on ears, and on face. I guess they target the less hairy areas?
Aandi
Ticks are drawn to heat and like Riika said, less hairy, easy target areas. Maybe, if your dog has a tendency to lie outside one a preferred side?
urge to herd
Pretty hairy spot - right on his side. If I wasn't running my hands over him every day I wouldn't find them. Not the hairiest spot, but not the least hairy either. Aandi he's an inside dog. The time he's outside he's running or walking briskly. Outside is for being busy! Gideon's girl
They always get Gideon right between the eyes. They never get Micah or Angel at all.

Crawford Dogs
Revolution is only listed as effective against the American Dog tick and may not be effective against other tick species. It's usually not recommended for use if your pets go into tick infested areas.
urge to herd
I got 2 more off him last night, and I'm pretty sure they were American Dog ticks, looked up some tick i.d. pix. And, duh, it just dawned on me that parts of my yard are perfect for ticks - yuck. Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon? Thankfully it's not a big yard and these weeds come out very easily. Laurelin
I've already pulled multiple ticks out of Hank's ears. That is the only place I've found them so far.
