GentleLake
Interesting to see that neither of thse dogs are they "typically" marked Irish patterned dogs. And also to see at about 9:13 a merle and a heavily ticked white dog, though I can't be sure either of these are BCs. Thanks for sharing, Donald. Pam Wolf
Saw this the first time as a kid, still enjoy watching it. Typical old Disney but good stuff just the same. Gentle Lake, most of Allen's older dogs came from Gilchrist's Spot's line if not mistaken.
NCStarkey
Arizona Sheepdogs! One of my favorite movies! As Pam mentioned, Rock was a son of Gilcrist's Spot. However, Nickey was American bred and a double grandson of the 1948 National Champion, Tweed (#1131). The resemblance between Nickey and my first working sheepdog, Bunks, was uncanny, and when I showed my husband a photo of Arthur and Nickey penning sheep, he refused to believe that the dog in the photo wasn't Bunks! Regards to all, nancy

My first BC's sire was an Arthur Allen dog and I remember Gilchrist's Spot being in the pedigree.
