Another video shared on Facebook:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxTKi5nu8Eg&feature=share

At the beginning I laughed because I figured they were poking fun at the stupid borderdoodle and pointing out how useless they are. But I watched the entire video and by the end this guy was saying that the borderdoodle would make a good sheepdog. Is he completely delusional?

IMO, that dog is a classic doodle. Absolutely nothing between the ears but vacant, unclaimed space.

Who is this trainer??

I believe he said "useful sheepdog" not good sheepdog. Useful is relative based on how much you expect out of the dog, if the dog just stays with you and the sheep move off the feed bunks instead of chasing the dog off and running you over at feeding time some will call that a useful sheepdog.

What one person deems useful another deems a waste of kibble and vice versa.

Oh how I wish I could tolerate such people wanting to just enjoy and interact with their dogs and dabble in the dream of following the inner spirit of their dogs, I am cutting myself out of so much easy money..let's see $25 for 10 minutes x 6 session an hour times 8 hours a day, let's see... let's just do it 3 days a week. Round about $15,000 a month or $180,000 a year...then video sales, book sales etc. Sorry....call me jealous.

But Julie, this isn't your typical sheep time/training, this is about giving your dog the opportunity to follow his inner voice, and to fulfil a primal need that he doesn't understand and is more then likely standing between you and your dog when it comes to your relationship...

The person providing the commentary (who I *assume* is training the individual working with the doodle, though perhaps I'm wrong) identified himself: Andy Nickless, in the UK. He also identified his website: http://www.workingsheepdog.co.uk/

He is a BC Boards member ("Lookback").

and it isn't the worst example of a dog learning to work sheep. Not exactly my style of dog but since I do train loose eyed breeds too I can understand the owners "want" to work sheep.
