Tommy Coyote
This is realy worrisome. They have moved all of the animals out of the KC animal shelter because of an illness. It starts out as kennel cough and then gets worse. So far about 20 cats and dogs have died. No reports so far as to the cause. I think they are waiting for test results. I hope this isn't some new, awful virus that has started in our area. Anybody know of anything that could do this?
geonni banner
I don't know if cats can get dog flu, but here is a link to a page about dog flu symptoms: http://www.dogsymptomscure.com/dog-flu-symptoms.php
juliepoudrier
My first thought was flu too. I also wondered if cats would be susceptible. J.

Bluzinnias
If I recall, right after Schering Plough came out with the vaccine for H3N8, the first cat death was reported. The virus when through a couple shelters here in the east. Manifests a lot like kennel cough but much more serious. Michelle My first thought was flu too. I also wondered if cats would be susceptible. J.
Liz P
Could be dog flu, but I've not yet seen it in the Midwest.
Tommy Coyote
Could be dog flu, but I've not yet seen it in the Midwest. The KC Star called it and airborn respitory virus -
