Lewis Moon
Max had his appointment [/quote fingers] yesterday and he is now home in his Elizabethan collar. While it's necesarry; I've already caught him trying to lick several times, it's also a PItA. So far he's knocked over speakers, pulled stuff off the coffee table, ran into every door jam....What is a ball park estimate of the amount of time I should leave it on? Everyone would be happier if it would just go away.
MyTDogs
Apply pipe insulation around the outer edge- it saves your door jams & the back of your knees. It also helps him negotiate barriers better cuz he can see the edges. It only cost a buck or so at home depot.

Lewie'sMom
I've only once had to use an elizabethan collar. What a PITA, as you said! I don't know anything about the Bitenot collar but it sounds good.
BCjetta
Our guy was bad for the first 5 or so days trying to get at it. After that, we could take the cone off but left it on overnight or when we wern't home.
