jfaircloth
Some of you may recall some of my earlier posts about our rescue Gomer. When we first got him at 7 months he was a ball of unfocused energy and was VERY shy around strangers. I am now putting him through CGC training (so I can start him on agility), and at last night's class there was a little obedience obstacle course race. We have an odd number of dogs in the class, so when we broke up into two teams, one of the dogs had to go through the course twice. The instructor immediately picked out Gomer to be the double-duty dog, and our team won by about 5 minutes! This is my first classroom experience with this dog, and he seems to love it, especially when he gets to show off. I can't wait to start him on agility. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed that we pass CGC in a couple of weeks. The "accepting a friendly stranger" part is still a little hard for him but he is getting better.
