bn_here_b4
I am making wings and have a quantity of the little wing tips leftover from cutting up the wings to cook. They are still raw. Can dogs have these? I mean, is it safe to give this as a treat? I never give my dogs any chicken bones, raw or cooked. I am afraid they may choke. However I have read many of the raw feeding posts and figure that it is unlikely the chicken is deboned prior to feeding, so maybe it is not as dangerous as I think. They do get raw chicken scraps when I am cooking, so I don't think it would cause upset tummies. I just wonder if the bones are ok. Thanks for your help. rushdoggie
Dogs can easily consume the small soft bones in chicken wings, however a wing tip might be a choking hazard for a medium sized dog. My Papillons eat the smaller wing tips and chicken necks, but my Border Collie will try to swallow them whole.
bn_here_b4
LOL. I tried to give Jody one. Evidently he prefers his chicken to be boneless and trimmed from the thigh or breast. I guess you can't choke on something you just spit out. Also I was chopping up broccoli and that is among his favorite foods. He got the broccoli stems for chewie toys. Thanks for your advice. Carson Crazies
I do give them to my Papillon, but the Border Collies would probably swallow them whole. If I'm giving one of the BCs a wing I'll give the whole thing.
