Lewis Moon
When Rosie runs her rear legs seem to circle out to the side of her body on the return stroke, kind of looking like an egg beater. Is that a signal of some possible problem? She's out of shape and I get the distinct impression she never learned to play or had much, if any, exercise. Could she just be learning? Cerb has been chasing and running since he was a pup and runs like Secretariat.

Cerb has been chasing and running since he was a pup and runs like Secretariat. As luck would have it, my last two fosters have been overweight. Glyn waddled and ran like a fat lab when he came -- his paunch made him keep his rear legs further apart when he ran and your "egg beater" description would actually fit quite well. (Glyn is almost down to proper weight now and runs like a border collie again). Beau, my latest, is still solidly overweight and is only now beginning to be able to run more than a dozen steps at a time before flopping down. He still has that strange way of moving his hind legs.
