ShoresDog
I couldn't stop giggling. Nor could I when I read the Petfinder blurb: "Foxy is an 11.8lb border collie/house mix puppy, approximately 3 months old. She and her 7 other siblings were found on the side of the road in the Tuscaloosa area. All 8 are currently being fostered by one of our adopters…she will foster as long as she can but if a few could be fostered or go to a foster-to-adopt home (until their vetting is complete) – then it would be much easier on the foster and her household." That foster is a saint!! Eight three-month-old border collie type puppies!! O.M.G.! Well, if they are all as cute as Foxy, at least there's that! Ontario Gordon
Do any of the rescue centres in the states ever ship the collies up to Canada, or is it just in the states. I've just moved over from Scotland and don't know what the rules are over here.
MrSnappy
There are no "rules" - every rescue has its own policies and every placement is made on a case-by-case basis. If you were interested in a dog in a rescue in the US, you could simply contact them and ask them if they would consider your home in Ontario. The worst they can say is "sorry, we don't adopt out of area." You could also look closer to home at Border Collie Rescue Ontario. That might be all around easier.
