Pat W.
Hello Im back havent visited the board in a while - like the new look. Been busy busy busy, earlier this year with redoing house ie painting, repairs, new flooring ect. Then my son's graduation from HS and subsequent grad party with family coming in from FLA and TX. Then getting ready to ship him off to college in VT, and the actual shipping there of. He's in Burlington Vt at Champlain College for Game Design. So getting use to only having 3 people in the house now. Sadly in my hiatus we lost my aussie Riley to unknown causes - long story short he was rushed to the vet at 9:30 am and was gone at 3:30 pm the same day. It is suspected that it was a prolonged seizure causing his temp to spike and cooking his brain, he did not suffer in fact I dont believe that he even realised what had happened. My sweet aussie boy, my beloved wiggle is gone and the world is that much more darker

Ooky
Nice to see you again, but so sorry to hear about Riley. When it happens so quickly it is so sad and confusing, but at least you know it was quick for him.

BustopherJones
High up in the courts of Heaven today A little dog-angel waits. With the other dogs he will not play, He just sits alone at the Gates. ”For I know my Mistress will come”, says he, ”And when she comes, she will call for me.” He sees the spirits that pass him by As they hasten towards the throne, And he watches them with a wistful eye As he sits at the gate alone; "But I know if I just wait patiently That someday my Mistress will come," says he. And his Mistress far down on the earth below, As she sits in her easy chair Forgets sometimes, and she whistles low For the dog that is not there; And the little dog-angel cocks his ears And dreams that his Mistress' call he hears. And I know when at length his Mistress waits Outside in the dark and cold For the hand of Death to open the gates That lead to the Courts of Gold, The little dog-angel's eager bark Will comfort her soul while she's still in the dark. ~ Adapted from a poem by Norah M. Holland, 1870 Via con Dios, Riley.
