Pen size

I don't believe the size is specified (the length of the rope is specified) in the bylaws.

The pen size is specified in the ISDS rule book for the nationals and international.

Pen 9 feet x 8 feet wide with a gate 8 feet wide, secured by a rope 6

feet long. The gate must open to not less than 170 degrees.

I have seen various sizes at USBCHA sanctioned trials.

So the 8 x 8 pen that's been used for the last 5 trials at my place is fine. I was needlessly tormented for almost 8 hours over the weekend by the person who was building a pen because our club's is the "wrong" size.

It would seem to me that as long as the size of the pen is adequate to hold the number of sheep being put in to it, with a little room to spare so you're not having to shove them in, then it should be fine. Tell the guy who's worried about pen size to worry about something else.
