Tea Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Great article! Thank you BTW This year for our agriculture programs for the sheep we had a total of 7 interns. So I think yes we will be getting young peiople into sheep.
The Sheep Guy Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 Yes, Patrick has been a big part of why I have gotten anywhere with my dogs. When I first started out, I was really discouraged and Patrick helped keep me on track and improving. He would always be honest with me and thoughtful about his approach. He knows not all dogs are the same and that each dog/handler combination is different. One thing I learned was to "give a dog a chance" and winning is practice and patience. I could go on and on but really Patrick is just a good trainer of people and their dogs. We ususally get 2-3 really interested people that come to our lambing school. We try to keep it to the people that are most interested in Sheep Production. We do encourage anyone to come and see a working sheep ranch in action.
