sea4th
I'm not familiar with life on a military base, but this what's up with this? http://scoutnewspaper.com/index.php?option...&Itemid=
Rave
Just another breed ban, but this one appears to have more punch, well because it can. If there's any question, the owner has to pay for breed testing where any combination of banned breeds equaling 50% or more will be banned. I imagine most people would get rid of their dogs instead of moving off-base, since that's so much more expensive. However, it's good to see there's an option for a 2-year waiver if they certify their animal with a nationally recognized temperament test. desertranger
The military have a broad range of powers from HQ down to the base commander. e.g. an individual base commander and can restrict motorcycle acces to the base and require all motorcycles be stored off base. I had one base commander prohibit the use of CB radio on base.
sea4th
So are decisions like this arbitrarily made on military bases? I read somewhere that pitbull dogs were the first war dogs ever used in the US. BSL is a load of crap to begin with. This latest move adds just a little more sting. Rave
From reading the story, the ban is a Marine-wide policy. Just like any other Marine policy, for example Marines aren't allowed to have pages on Facebook, Twitter or Myspace.
