Maralynn
Can anyone recommend a good joint supplement . "Joint Strong" made by animal naturals has worked very well for my dog. I've also heard really good things about Cetyl M
shanni and kingsley
i am using Nupro with joint supplement for years on kingsley.. and recently put my other dog - robin on it. i could see the difference in that 10 yr old dog.. and he used to be sore hips occassionally.. and now.. it's gone.. i like it. http://www.nuprostore.com/nuprojointsup.htm
Sue R
I use Synovi-G3 for my adult dogs. Celt's ortho vet (the one who said he didn't need surgery, and she was right) said it looked like a very good choice for him.
bc4ever
I use Synovi-G3 Me too, and it really does seem to make a difference. I think they are rather pricey from the vet's though. Probably available somewhere on line but haven't checked yet. I also give fish oil caps. He loves 'em!

in2adventure
I also use Joint Strong, a power you put on their food. I use it for a preventative since my guys are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 with no issues so far. How old is your dog and is there any issues?
DeltaBluez Tess
I use Total Joint Care for me and Tess. It's a horse product so I reduce the amount for us. It makes Tess run like a young dog and it pays off at the trials. My hips are messeed up as well as my kneww and it helps me be able to walk around. We ran out and it took a few days for it to arrive and in those few days, Tess was very stiff and couldn't jump on the bed. Now with it, she can leap over a four foot fence. I, on the other hand, can not leap over a four foot fence at all. I liked it so much that I became a dealer so save on the cost. I also have my dogs go to the chiro about 2 months or so. That really helps and I also do doggie massage on Tess and Nan.
Sue R
I get the Synovi-G3 from KV Vet. No shipping costs, if I remember correctly, fast service, and a good price.
dracina
I use regular old glucosamine and chondroitin. Both my dogs take it- one had OCD as a youngster, and the other had hip troubles. They are both doing great on it, and I notice no difficulties or pains from either. There are many versions for dogs, like Cosequin, but I use the same brand for my dogs that my husband and I use (produced for human consumption). It is much cheaper than buying the brands made for dogs, and it has the exact same formulation. I also supplement with fish oil and flax seed oil capsules occasionally. As I'm sure you know already, I would ask your vet before using most products made for humans, just to be sure. Karrin
workindogs
Synovi-G3 plus fish oil caps.....sometimes I use Solid Gold Joint Support.

SoloRiver
Solo is on Glyco-Flex III soft chews and whatever the joint supplement is that they have at Costco, plus Adequan. He's not limping so it seems to be working for him.
PSmitty
Mine are on Glyco-flex II and get fish oil, too.
SincereArtisan
I use Dasuquin, and fish oil capsules.
Carson Crazies
Glyco-Flex III for the old ones, plus fish oil and vit e. I've tried many others - including Synovi G3 and so far this one has made the most difference. Sometimes it's a trial and error thing. Alchemist
The veterinary orthopedic specialist I saw today for Duncan told me that Dasuquin was the "Cadillac" of joint supplements. It's also the supplement that my regular vet recommended. Good luck! - Lynn
elegy
Luce takes Dasuquin right now, though I can't say I really notice a difference compared to when she was on Glycoflex.
workindogs
Yes, I would second Melanie's recommendation of Adequan...I've had great results. It's likely overkill for general supplement needs....but worth a consideration for known osteoarthritis.
Lewie'sMom
I've used this with great success in the past:

Jumpin Boots
I know several people who are using Recovery ES and swear by it, not only for their dogs and horses, but themselves as well. One person has a 4 yr old great dane who could hardly get up by himself and now has no issues. I haven't tried it myself yet, but am getting ready to start this next pay check
BC-Liz
Wow, really helpful. Thanks everyone! ETA: All the Cosequin users, what type do you use? Consequin Bonelets Hip & Joint Support Plus Dog Supplement or Cosequin DS thanks!
