kajarrel
I never thought I'd be having this problem . . hope you can help. We recently opened our "old" house to an addition we've been working on for almost a year. Several of dogs seem to feel that the "new area" is "outside" and have been relieving themselves there. I'm totally stumped why this is happening because they remain continent in the old house. Some causes I've thought about are that we haven't really "moved in" the new section yet and the new section has stone floors. Anyway, I'm resolved to "(re)teaching old dogs new tricks." So, I guess I need a stain and odor remover. There are several options. Any suggestions, good/bad experiences? Thanks! Kim
Jedismom
So, I guess I need a stain and odor remover. There are several options. Any suggestions, good/bad experiences? I use Nature's Miracle. It works for us and I like that there is no perfumy (is that a word? ) odor.
kajarrel
Close enough - honestly, I'd take a perfumy odor right now
Mark Billadeau
We've had good success with odoban in removing odors. Mark

BustopherJones
I second Nature's Miracle.
juliepoudrier
FWIW, the original Nature's Miracle is now sold as Petastic. I've only ever been able to find it online. Nature's Miracle (the company) sold the name, and the "new" Nature's Miracle doesn't smell like the original, but Petastic does! I think Odoban works pretty good too. J. Sue R
I use Nature's Miracle. It works for us and I like that there is no perfumy (is that a word? ) odor. This is what I use, also. But for really nasty stains that nothing seems to take out (or that are older and "set"), my daughter recommended an aerosol called "Spot Shot" (for carpets) that removed somethings I thought would be with us forever! I don't buy aerosols on principle but this is one (along with hornet/wasp spray) for which I gladly make an exception. I realize that your problem is on stone floors (sound wonderful) but it's always good to know of another resource that might come in handy. I got the Spot Shot at Lowe's. Rainierlass
I second SpotShot - I have a Mega-esophagous dog ( she is what we call 'urpy') and it has taken EVERY stain out over the last 5 years - - needless to say we are slowly working our way toward all wood floors............... MaggieDog
I like Simple Solution - didn't have very good luck with the "new" Nature's Miracle when I tried it.
theshine
I like Simple Solution - didn't have very good luck with the "new" Nature's Miracle when I tried it. Same here...the natures miracle smelled bad to me, but simple solution smells orangey...
kajarrel
Wow, thanks everyone! Guess I've got options. I went to WalMart today - they were supposed to have the Odoban, according to the Odoban website, but no luck . . . I'm going to look for Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution this weekend. Hopefully, one will do the trick. Kim
juliepoudrier
Kim, I agree with the others that the new Nature's Miracle isn't as good as the original. You can still get the original, but you need to look for the Petastic name instead. J.
bcnewe2
Kim I have an old dog that when ever I put something new down on the floor like a new rug or something simular she thinks she needs to fix it up for me. I've decided it's the smell of the new material. Ever smell a new area rug? They stink funny. Not sure about stone but maybe it's tne new smell too? I don't think much works that well. For me, it's getting what ever you put down back up. So I use something like Natrues Miracle then lots and lots of water. If it's a soft surface I then take towels and step on them till I can't get any more water out of them. Good luck
Liz P
I swear by this stuff because it has saved blankets, dog beds and carpets that I thought were a lost cause. I think it works significantly better than Nature's Miracle and Spot Shot. http://www.zeroodor.com/
Brandon M
I swear by this stuff because it has saved blankets, dog beds and carpets that I thought were a lost cause. I think it works significantly better than Nature's Miracle and Spot Shot. http://www.zeroodor.com/ x2 We use it at the ranch when the Llamas start to go in a spot they aren't supposed to. It completely eliminates the smell, even for their sensitive noses, and they will stop using the spot. It's great stuff.
Kyna
We swear by Nature Bright for carpets and laundry - I soak the dog collars in it too when they get a little stinky from swimming. We also have this 'thing' - I think it is called an interceptor - it turns your household vacuum cleaner into a wet vac.
