bc4ever
The four year old autistic neighbor boy was visiting with his dad tonight, playing with Scooter, running around, inside and outside, in and out of the laundry room leading to the garage, wanting to go home and bring something back for us to see. I heard the door going to the garage slam shut and realized it had been open the whole time he was arguing with his dad about leaving, and the overhead door was open too. DH and I both stood up and asked, "Where's Scooter? Did he go outside?!" "Yes." I asked where he was and he pointed towards the front yard, and the street. I panicked. My nightmare come true. I could just imagine him getting hit. Right about then DH said, "Here he is." He had gone straight to the back door of the garage, waiting for someone to open it and let him in the back yard to play Frisbee. He usually waits at the door, but he must have thought the boy was going out with him. I think my heart has finally started beating again... bc4ever
glad scooter's a smart dog! That he is! Lying in bed last night, I replayed the incident in my mind and it still made me shudder. That could have had a totally different ending...
jingi
sounds like you put in the time to train him...funny how that works...and here i always thought you get a dog and with a wave of her magic wand, the training fairy does all the work for you...at least that's what some people think...
