Jimmyd65
Okay I have a 6 month old puppy and I am wondering which flea/tick prevention medicine is safe and good to use I ordered k9 advantix is this safe? Have your vet recommend a product for your puppy. I would NOT buy any over the counter products.
Journey
I've been having to use the Advantix here lately, good results, I just despise having to use the chemicals. Check the box for age requirements, I think most products are labeled safe for 8 weeks and older.
BaileytheCollie
Ok..I was recommened this product, but i read a few bad reviews but mostly good...anyone had any problems?
desertranger
I avoid chemical products that could have a adverse affect on my dogs. I find regular bathing with a top brand tick and flea shampoo is usually enough to keep them under control. Head and Shoulders works well. Soak, shampoo and let it sit for 10 mins, rinse and repeat. trailrider
About 20 years ago, when a family moved into the farm nearby, their cats kept coming to my place. I was visiting a friend with 3 of my dogs, and she noticed the flea dirt on one of them. I went home, and sure enough we had fleas. I used rotenone powder everywhere, and never had fleas again - that i could see. I didn`t know until later where the cat came from, so I sent it to the animal control. The people were mad, but I thought it was a stray. Does anyone ever use rotenone these days? It was labelled for horses, not the really concentrated stuff. desertranger
Bailey and Julie, Julie and Bailey. You guys didn't know? Oh my! Yes, Head and Shoulders is head and shoulders above the rest because it has selenium in it, the active ingredient in many flea and tick shampoos, and secret ingredient 1475242 (241637 on Tuesdays) the same as used in new shimmer a toothpaste, floorwax and desert topping.
