JaderBug
Deb, did we decide to go with a raffle instead of a silent auction? Also, when did it go from IHDA to ISDA?

Debbie Meier
Yeah, I made an executive decision based on the amount of help I think I'm going to have. This is the deal, silent auction, one buyer and I need to track that person down and collect money from them hoping they are still there when we close the auction. So, instead we will have a table with all the items, each item will have a can, you purchase tickets for $1.00 each or 11 for $10.00 and you put your tickets into the can for the item that you would like to win. We then start drawing for the winners, we have not decided yet if it will be during the pot luck or during the fun trial, depends on if people want to continue to buy tickets, heck I might decide to move the whole table over to the field and keep on selling tickets while intermittently drawing for items. I figured that way a person can put in for what they want, then money is collected for up front. I just need to get tickets either printed or just go buy a roll. Know of anyone that has a roll of raffle tickets lying around? Also, we are going to with hold all desserts from the pot luck which ought to make the dessert auction interesting, what type of bidding war will the men get into over that special dessert that they all are craving at the moment, and do they share it or keep it to themselves? I have to remember to take paper plates and plastic wrap to make everything portable in case someone brings items in non disposable containers. Mike Davis called today just to make sure we are doing an auction so he can bid Bob Johnson up on everything in front of everybody. I just have my fingers crossed that we have good weather and that everyone has fun, 18 days until I enter into a stress free zone.....then the count down begins for the Sheep and Wool Festival. As far as the ISDA vs. IHDA, we are in the process of reorganzing under the new name and filing as a non-profit, right now we are state only not federal for reasons beyond my control it was easier to reorganize then to try to get our ducks in a row under the old name, really nothing is changing except the one word in the name and the ability to have people/companies claim their donations and take advantage of some non-profit discounts that we were not able to before. The paperwork is underway and the accountant told me to start operating as ISDA formally known as IHDA, it's a work in progress. Deb ETA, you must have wondered over to our discussion board while I was typing. BTW, how do the window clings sound? Logo with some dog related saying.
