Sue_Deutscher
I found bananas in the back yard this morning. Pete can climb on the table where the fruit bowl is from the couch. The other two do not get on the table.

juliepoudrier
Well at least it's a healthy snack! I have one who loves bananas. I always share with him. Oh, and they come in natural wrappers, so unless he's really smashed them or something, you don't even have to worry about the "5-second rule"! J. Cody & Duchess
Your Pete would get along great with Cody and Duchess. Cody is the bigger dog - you would expect that something off the counter would be his escapade. We are very deligent about keeping things put away in the kitchen - but occasionally fail . We are never seen either dog get something off the counter - only evidence that it has occurred. What to do other than reprimand the human for not fulfilling their end of the deal. I swear that Duchess is next to Cody saying - yeh, yeh to the right, yeh- you got it, now push it over the edge to me. Don't worry I'll cover you. bc4ever
My sister had a cat and dog act going in her house. The dog would eat anything--carpeting, soap, a whole box of chocolates, with the wrappers without any side effects. She swears the cat, being more agile and able to climb, used to get into things and knock them down for the dog to eat.

At least my dog doesn't eat inedible stuff. But I do have 2 very accomplished feline physicists who both experiment extensively in gravity, object aerodynamics, and action-reaction. They certainly team up with my canine forensic investigator by providing him objects to chew, toss, or run around with. These cats keep the elevated edibles for themselves, though. Tassie
LOL. My first Border Collie Sam used to do this - and he learnt to peel the banans himself. I just put the fruit bowl higher up, and forgot about it, until we started doing therapy dog work. His first visit, with staff of the palliayive care centre watching, he was sitting on a chair beside a patient's bed, and I had to apologise as he kept looking at the bananas in the fruit bowl I explained how he used to peel his own, and the patient begged me to give him a banana so she could see it. So he got his banana, got down to the floor, and duly peeled it and ate it. The patient was delighted, and so were the staff. After that, I used to have to bring a banana with me, but he often got one from patients and/or staff as well, so he could show off his party trick. His record was 3 bananas in one visit. When I told the doctor in charge that Sam was probably overdosed on potassium, he laughed and said "nothing that a good strong black coffee can't fix" . Sue_Deutscher
When it comes to people, sometimes you have to be tricky. You have to learn how to get away with things, and that is what I am learning. Good luck! PETE
Dal & Mad's Mom
When it comes to people, sometimes you have to be tricky. You have to learn how to get away with things, and that is what I am learning. Good luck! PETE At the rescue we have found almost everything the portable phone, cell phones, remotes, shoes, gosh if it's in a house they probably have taken it. Mom has 2 doors to get out so it's that dog who's straggling that can make off with the good stuff.

I left my retainers sitting out on my night stand and Lacey climbed up and knocked them down, and Jade proceeded to crunch them up. So, Rachel had to go get fitted for and buy new ones. Thanks, guys. Oh and as far as dog snacks go, Jade loves carrots
