Dan28
I've been taking my little Gus to dog parks pretty regularly since he was 9 weeks old. He is 16 weeks today. We have several dog parks in the St. Louis area. The closest of which to me, is a totally free park. I have used it to socialize Gus to other dogs and people, and he loves it. It is also a good way to meet other people. Granted, I know way more dog names than people names at the park. Just the other day a guy brought a BC pup that is only a week younger than Gus, and I really wanted to take her home with me, she was so cute and friendly and would have made an excellent playmate for Gus. St. Louis also has a yearly dog parade. It was last week and there were thousands of dogs there. I took Gus there, but we watched from the side. After the parade we went to a dog park close by where Gus and an older border collie met and got on well together. Both of these parks provide a "waste station" that includes bags and a lidded recepticle for the waste.
