Laura (Cady and Koda's mom)
Only just now catching this.... So glad hopefully (sorta, maybe) everything will be alright. Sorry about the diet though - I have two boys that need the same - plus their mom (me)!
Tassie
Oh, that's good news. Well, that the lump is not sinister. Not so good news about the diet I'm trying to use fresh raw carrots to help my agility girl keep her weight down. Fortunately she loves them, and I think they're good for her teeth too. Ooky
Ooooo, diets are tough, tough, tough. I took a cat from 24 to less than 15 lbs and kept him on a diet from age 5 to age 12.5, VERY much against his wishes. You'll hear some grumbling. But I am very happy to hear your maybe sorta good news. Keep us updated!
BustopherJones
diets are tough, tough, tough. Tell me about it. I used to be so overweight that in the Fall I would paint "Goodyear" across my *** and rent myself out for football games. I went on a diet that lasted for 3 years, and finally got down to a reasonable level. Then I got a Border Collie; enough said...
cactuskate
Is there an update on Tex? I thought about the two of you all day yesterday.
Jo&Tex
Worry. If it's just a harmless, maybe sorta lipoma, why is he licking it all the time? He doesn't bug on his other little blobs. Tex loves pumpkin and carrots and hates green beans. He picks out all the beans and puts them beside his bowl. Too cold for a walk today so he's getting his exercise by following me around and mooching for food.
urge to herd
Jo, Have a needle biopsy done. Very short proceedure, your vet may be able to do it without anesthesia while you're in there with him. It will give you some more information. More good thoughts! sandyleew
I have a lipoma in my back and it sometimes hurts because it is near a nerve. Maybe that is why he licks.
RuthBelle
Ruth had a quite a big lipoma on the underside of her neck and I first noticed it when she was 9 or 10 years old. The vet did a needle biopsy and it turned out to be fatty tissue, with no indication of cancer. It got a little bit bigger as she got older, but didn't seem to bother her one bit. She had a very thick coat so it wasn't noticeable unless you knew where to look.
Liz P
If it's just a harmless, maybe sorta lipoma, why is he licking it all the time? He doesn't bug on his other little blobs. Sometimes dangerous tumors are surrounded with a lot of fat and needle aspirates miss those cells. The only way to know is to take it off and do a real biopsy.
