BCAndrew
I've been reading the board for a few months, but this is my first post here. I posted a few times on a Border Collie Rescue forum, but I figured I would post my introduction here as well. My girlfriend and I have a 9 week old Border Collie that we're calling Riley. We found Riley through a shelter, but she had a long trip before that. She was brought to a pound at 4 weeks old. Instead of leaving her at the pound over the long Thanksgiving weekend, they gave her to a shelter. The shelter had a series of foster homes where she stayed (and was almost adopted) until we found her. We brought her home on December 11th (at 6 weeks old), and she's been a part of our crazy little family since then. We also have a 2 year old Yorkie named Barkley, and he's been having an absolute blast playing with her. We both love her to death already, and she's definitely a permanent fixture in our home. First 3 pictures that we ever saw of her First visit to see her First few days home See next post for more pictures...
BCAndrew
About a week after having her Updated pictures! (Dec-30th) Anyone know what she might be mixed with? Or maybe she's just a smooth coat. Any comments or ideas are welcome. I've learned a lot between these two boards, and look forward to being active here. ------ Edit: She's 11.5 lbs at 9 weeks, if that helps anyone ------

So cute...from this pic looks like a 'Bruiser' and mixed with boxer or JRT... but probably just the expression. I'd wait to see how she develops before hazarding a real guess. I responded first because my first bcs name was also 'Riley', as in leading the life of. It looks like your Yorkie and Riley are having a blast. Your little guy won't know what happened when Riley begins to grow up. There are many people here with bcs and other toy breeds, so they can probably give you some really good advice in terms of keeping their relationship, er, equitable. Good luck with her and keep those pics coming. Ailsa
bc4ever
Looks like a Border Collie mixed with lots of fun and love! She's adorable! And welcome to the boards--you'll get a lot more knowledgeable answers than mine!
M.L.
She is adorable! I love her speckled nose. Bailey had a pink and black nose when he was a puppy, but now it is all black except for inside his nostrils. Good luck with Riley! You are going to have tons of fun! BCAndrew
Thanks for all the responses and compliments. It's pretty hard to tell about whether or not she's mixed with anything when she's this young, but I'll take all the guesses I can get. We don't mind if she ends up being 35 lbs or 75 lbs, we love her just the same. I forgot to add that our Yorkie is a bit of a monster (12.5 - 13 lbs) so keep that in mind for the scale of the pictures. lol The two of them get along great though. They're always looking for each other, and Barkley checks on her when she sleeps.
Ms.DaisyDuke
I do really love the nose. So much, that you can just send her to me! As someone else said, it's really hard to tell right now cause she's so young. I would just wait and see how she grows and what kind of characteristics she picks up. Oh, I also think that my dog was around the same size at that age. She's crossed with a malamute, but you'd never know it. She's only about 40-45# now at 4. It's hard to tell how they'll turn out. For a while, I thought she was going to be a lot bigger than she is! Anyway, welcome! Riley is adorable! julie & daisy
Allie Oop
What a cute puppy!! I love the different expressions on her face and she looks like she loves playing with her Yorkie brother. Welcome!

Ooky
Welcome! What a beauty! One of my dog's good dog-friends is a yorkie-silky terrier mix. Those pictures of the two of them are so cute, it reminds me of when Odin was small.
ShoresDog
Welcome aboard! Riley is a real cute pup, and after such a rocky start in life, lucky to have landed in the lap of it, and off to live the life of Riley! I'll look forward to more pictures as she grows up. It's wonderful that she has Barkley to help her learn some of the dog language she might have missed out on earlier.

AllieMackie
OMG! Such a pretty girl! Looks like she may have some lab in her, or a type of hound, my those ears and structure, but it's hard to tell at such a young age. I adore the blue eyes and the spotty nose. juliepoudrier
There's something about her muzzle/head that says mix to me, but whatever it is, she sure is a cutie, and bless you for giving her a great life! J.
Alaska
The ears look a bit houndy to me, but wow is that a cute pup! You must post pictures often, lots of pictures, lots and lots of pictures.
BCAndrew
After looking at a bunch of pictures, I'm really starting to think the BC/Aussie mix might be right. These Aussie ears look pretty similar. She's absolutely crazy though, that's for sure. (New pictures in the next few days)
