Kyna
Lately I have been staying up quite late and I have noticed that Rock (2yrs old) goes to sleep and stays asleep until the morning. Isla (11 yrs old) seems to get up every hour and osiclates between her pillow in the bedroom and the crate in the hallway. I wouldn't know if this is new behaviour as I was usually asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Should I be worried about Isla? Is this normal? Could she be roaming because I am roaming? Or do I just have too much time on my hands and not worry about it ?
bc4ever
I'm a night owl and Scooter won't go to bed till I do. He'll fall asleep at my feet but isn't really "in" for the night till I shut off the lights and head upstairs--probably his need to make sure everyone is in their proper place before he goes "off duty." I can sometimes hear him moving around the house (I'm a light sleeper!) from chair to floor, etc. He goes from place to place, the hallway on the carpeting, in the office on the hardwood floor, which is why I like having him uncrated at night. I think he's more comfortable. I think most dogs do a certain amount of nocturnal wandering. It could just be that you weren't aware of her sleeping habits till now because you were asleep. Unless she has some physical ailments that are keeping her awake, I wouldn't worry about it.
