Laurae
Does anyone have any advice on how to best transition a raw-fed dog back to kibble for a little while? Would it be best to feed a raw meal in the morning and kibble at night? Or just go cold turkey (which I think is best for dogs transitioning from kibble to raw, but must be done carefully, one food at a time)? Thanks much. Maralynn
I'd just go cold turkey, unless they have really sensitive digestive systems. My two switch back and forth all the time and digestive upsets are very rare. They may go a few days on raw and then a few on kibble, or sometimes it changes from day to day. airbear
Ditto. When I switched Bear and Wick to kibble, I just did it cold turkey. They aren't allergic to anything, have pretty solid stomachs, and switched no problem. Sometimes (maybe a couple of times a month) all three get a raw meal. Again, they take it in stride, no drastic gastric effects.
Lewie'sMom
Yep, I agree, cold turkey. Even though he's not a proponate of raw, when I switched Lewie to raw the vet said cold turkey. I'd think going the other way would be the same.
