post-9398-1226704388_thumb.jpgHi everybody and Greetings from Cork , Ireland.

About 6 weeks ago a BC called Meg came to live with me. Meg was a rescue dog and had been sort of fostered for about 6 months. She is around 18 months old and a gorgeous young lady. Life has changed as now I am brought for walks twice a day. Living in the countryside and very near the sea gives us many places to go and we both enjoy it a lot.

Meg tends to be a little nervous but has come on wonderfully and is not slow to show she has a mind of her own. It is so funny that when it suits her she know how to come and sit but if there is anything better to do an amazing and rapid hearing defect affects her! In fairness she has learned, on the whole, to be good on the lead, sits in her seat belt when driving and gives me loads of affection.

I had hoped to teach her agility but as there is nowhere in the area that teaches this we will stick to walks and ball throwing for now. Anyway I am a very senior citizen and have to face the fact that from what I have seen agility may be too much for me.......hate admitting that.

Ihave learned a lot here for which many thanks.

So for now best wishes to all from

Meg and Elizabeth.

Welcome aboard!! Meg is lovely. She looks a lot like my Daisy, my avatar picture, my first border collie, and, in fact, my first dog. Like Meg, Daisy came to me when she was about 18 months old and totally changed my lifestyle. The past few years have involved all kinds of things I never could have imagined. Me and sheep? Who'd have thought it??!! I learned much from these boards and am grateful to the many stalwart and knowledgeable members.

Welcome to the boards.. I have to say I am jealous...I've always wanted to live in Ireland...my roommate in College did when she was younger and had tons of great things to say about it.

Your little girl is beautiful and I'm sure you will have tons of fun together!

Thank you so much for the welcome and your very kind comments about Meg. She is a very pretty girl funny word for a dog but seems to fit her. Like all dog lovers I don't care about appearance its the personality that counts in my book.

I took Meg into meet my 99 year old cousin last Thursday. I was delighted that the Home encouraged pets to visit. Meg was on best behaviour and earned several treats!! I would love to train her to become a Hospital visiting dog so will concentrate on teaching her the basic rules of etiquette

Thanks again.
