Caerus
Mostly because when I tell my husband he just nods and smiles. Cat people, harrumph! Anyway, Diocese (my BC) and I started private agility lessons a few weeks back and he has been an absolute champ. Last Monday we tried the teeter for the first time and the instructor thought that he would have an issue with it. The very first time it went down (slowly, with the trainer holding it), he cocked his head for a second, looked at me, and doggy-shrugged. By the end of the lesson he was doing it by himself, at full height. Probably not unusual, but he still made me proud, because he surprised the trainer. The other great job was near the end of the lesson, when her next class started to show. Most of them get there 5-10 minutes early, and my boy is reactive towards strangers. We usually spend the last few minutes of the lesson working on focus and good behavior around scary things (big scary people with big scary shelties! ). He did very well, for him, at focusing on work even when most of the class was already there. So well that the trainer asked if I wanted to walk him by the line of people and dogs and see how he did. I ended up having the instructor walk him, because my poor wrists were giving out (carpal tunnel). He barely glanced at them, and it wasn't in a stressed out way! I was so proud of my boy! He has made such awesome progress after my awful, scared not-handling of his reactivity up until 5-6 months ago. Even D had a good surprise, as when he reached the end of the line of people for the next class, we found out that his old foster brother was signed up. Of all the coincidences! They recognized each other and got to play a bit before class. Good day all around!
Tassie
That sounds like a lovely big brag to me - way to go with your boy - and lovely that he recognised his foster brother.
