border_collie_crazy Posted October 4, 2008 Report Share Posted October 4, 2008 I know this isnt a book on BCs, (thought it does mention in passing the "great working border collie") however it is about working retrievers, how they REALLY came about, what shaped their history, and what has happened to them today(well...20 years ago). Wolters is the founder of the North American Hunting Retreiver Assos. which he founded after AKC turned their fields trials into a game that hadnt much to do with actual hunting, and destroyed the other half of the dogs with the show ring. it is a very informative book, and had me laughing all the way though while learning a ton.
