Shadow128
Our dog is mostly black except for some white on his front paws and mostly white on his back paws and some white around neck and in tip of his tail. He's almost 4 years old now. I have noticed in the last few months that the white hair on his front paws looks like it is changing to a light pinkish color. Anyone knows if this is normal? urge to herd
This is a stain from an enzyme in his saliva. He's either licking himself or drooling on himself. My girl Sami has large pink splotches on her front legs in the warmer weather, she pants and as she's gotten older, she drips and drools. Unless your boy is licking due to allergies, (and you'd probably see some other signs like a lot of scratching, bad odor, etc) it's nothing to worry about. RaisingRiver
You can use a whitening shampoo (typical use is for all white dogs) on just his white parts. I found it works really well - esp if you do the white first then the rest of him (I use regular shampoo for the black parts) and then go back and wash off the white last (it's supposed to stay on for like 10 mins). Really brightens the white - the 'pink' is harder to get through, but probably after some repetition (esp if you're just washing his paws) the pink will fade to barely there. grinning.girl
I would however watch to see if he is chewing on his paws, as continued chewing can be bad for his lil feet.
