Bo Peep
The cool breeze and the darkness brings on something in my Mom. She feels the need to train me. I usually go into my crate about 10:30, but I see her with Bailey and wish Mom & I had these times together. Mom is working on step-sis for a hearing dog for her best friend. OK, she needs obedience, but "I" am the master of obedience and will NOT let her show me up!!!!! Bailey is quite eager to please, I must do this also. She eagerly trots along Mom's side as I watch through the window.......ugh- how I hate her. She sits at every stop. BLEH! It's MY turn now. The old hag is in the house while Mom takes me through the development. Oh, I look nice, I heel well. I sit when she stops, oops- I'm crooked- Mom just gives me a nudge and says "it's ok, that's where you should be". OK- I did OK. I bet I'm better than Bailey! Mom left me a block away on a sit-stay (that's why she likes to practice at night) I sat so still. Mom said in her funny voice "Usher..........come! " Oh, I ran so hard, but 1/2 way there she said "down" oops- I had to put on my brakes. I, relunctly stopped. She gave me the "look". Oh, I hate the "look". I downed. Oh, I'm so good!! I'm such a good dog. Guess what? When I came and finally "finished" I got a big cookie!!! I am so wonderful. I am such a great dog. I am better than my step-sis. I am Usher- the Almighty!!!!! bexie
Sounds like a lot of fun Usher. Molly sympathizes with the annoyingness of downs in the middle of a return. We started making her do those when playing fetch last night. We do a custom fetch with lots of down stays and now even sit stays. And last night we started making her down and stay on the way back with the ball. She does it reluctantly like you, but she's getting better. I know your mother is very proud of you Usher. No one could ever take your place in her heart even if she does work a little extra on Bailey right now.
Ms.DaisyDuke
LOL! Usher you sound like you're doing a good job! I hate it when my mom puts me in a down while i'm running. It drives me up the wall! Sometimes I even bark at her while I'm down to let her know this was a bit irritating!! (I know, I have to work on that, but sometimes I can't help my self).
