Bo Peep
Thank you both so much for your responses, as I am struggling with the issue of heeling in training for the October trial and also casual walks. I KNOW my border collies are smart enough to disguise the choke vs. the flat collar. When I first started herding in the late 80's, they told me I couldn't do obedience and herding with a BC -LOL. I told them, my dog was smart enough to know the difference between a choke chain and sheep. I was right. One reason I love this breed. I have a tattoo of a border collie on my ankle. I have statues of them all over my house. I showed in ACK when they were in the misc. category and achieved a UCD on one dog and several CD's and have trialed in ASBCH trials only in novice- but did quite well. But seeing from the northern trial, I would have been P/N I just want to say that I enjoy this breed. I have loved all of my dogs and I hope I can contribute some of what I have learned to others, and hope that I can also learn from others! Again- thank you.
