silhouettestable
Sounds like a pretty good plan to me. But I sure love having electicity to my coop. Never had it until i built the setup I have now, which I've been using for 15 yrs now. Yeah, I do miss having electricity for the coop. Before buying our house I used to live at my parents cottage and rented an empty old barn down the road for my horses. Of course I started filling the barn up and had chickens there too. It was nice to be able to put a light on a timer, and use a heat lamp when it got really cold (and for starting chicks/turkeys in the barn, instead of in my basement ) I'm always glad to get them moved out of the house. We've lived here for 11 years but our outbuildings are very "rustic" to say the least. Horses are on 24/7 turnout with a couple of run-ins and the chicken coop is quite a ways back from the house. No electricity in any of the outbuildings.
