She needs a photo of a border collie, with the owner's permission to paint it. She'd like a fairly close up shot, preferably of the dog taking a jump, with not much distracting background. Mudpups Posted October 7, 2007 Report Share Posted October 7, 2007 I am an animal and Pet Portrait artist as well and I quite often browse through Flickr.com and ask permission from photographers if I can use a particular photo as reference material (especially for animals that I don't have access to like orangutans, lions and tigers!). Photography is subject to copyright so it is essential to ask permission first - most are happy to oblige, especially if it is for a good cause (animal charity donations etc).
