Liz P
Fur Seal I took the monsters swimming today. It was Frankie and Sage's 2nd time near water. Sage paddled out to the middle of the river and was swimming in circles. Freya dropped a stick at my feet so I looked down. When I looked back up Sage was gone! Before I even had time to panic he popped back up, swam in a circle then dove under water! I don't know what he wanted, but he kept diving underwater after something. Fish maybe? There are bass and trout in the stream... I have a very weird dog.
Anda
Sage sounds like he's turning into a cool dog! My dog doesn't dive underwater, but loves to swim. I think I would have panicked big time to see he's gone underwater!
ShoresDog
I hope you can capture this in a picture! Daisy likes to swim in both the ocean and pool, but I've never seen her deliberately dive underwater. This morning, running on the beach, the tide was low and she cooled off by sitting in a sandy, temporary tidepool along with a big orange starfish. I'm taking a camera with me tomorrow in case I can get a picture.
Liz P
Well, I will have plenty of opportunities soon. One week from Monday we are moving to a house on a lake. The new house also happens to be less than a mile from my sheep
border_collie_crazy
lol, gotta love Sage! Misty loves diving too, as far as she is concerned, diving is the entire point of swimming lol
Kat's Dogs
That is so weird! But very cool. Especially since my dog doesn't seem to know how to swim (several times now she has almost drowned). I think we better work on that....

I have never met a BC that couldn't swim if it had to! A Pug maybe, but not a BC...
Allie Oop
Pictures, pictures, please! How cool is that! Allie can swim, loves the water, but would rather splash and exercise her water OCD than anything else. Rusty loves to really swim -- the deeper the better (I believe his nickname with his foster home was Little Otter). He does some snorkeling under the water, too, but I've never seen him actually swim underwater.
WyoBC
"Especially since my dog doesn't seem to know how to swim (several times now she has almost drowned). I think we better work on that...." Ok, now I'm freaked out about him swimming I have been working with Black Jack on swimming. So far he likes it a lot. He has always loved spalshing through the water or ice water since I got him but now that's it's hot he has more fun in it. I have been filling his kiddie pool more and more to get him used to swimming. That way there's no chance of a drowed BC.
