Guest Bart
Just read your answer to Rachel. I have 3 natural outrunners but in an arena especially a narrow one they will not go to the outside fence and may go straight up the middle with a pear shape at the end. In a field or an arena that is larger and not as narrow they will go wide. A friend of mine says I got away with it her place because the sheep were heavy. I am not sure my dogs are not reading the sheep and realizing they can fetch them at a closer distance, is that possible?
Guest Amanda
They ought to go to the outside fence of an arena, "reading the sheep and realizing they can fetch them at a closer distance," notwithstanding. You are in a position to be an enforcer there, whcih should be used. Don't let them get away with it. Give them an inch, there goes the yard.
