Maizy
We plan to stay in Klamath Falls for two nights on our trip to Oregon. Can anyone who attended the finals or are from the area reccommend a place to stay. We are staying in the area to attend the last day of the trial in Sprague River at the end of June. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. [/quote I stayed at the Wild Goose Lodge in Merrill, Oregon for the Sheepdog Finals last year. Address is 105 Court Drive, Merrill, OR. (541) 798-5826. It is a small row of rooms, VERY clean. Rooms are small, kind of reminded me of my dorm days in college, as the beds line up along the wall. I really enjoyed my stay there. The lady is a bit on the "scattered" side, but seemed very intent on making all there happy. It's only about 12 rooms or so, and priced in my budget. I stayed there for a full week, as my dog was in the Nursery division and I also wanted to be able to see all the Open dogs clear through the last day. I think Merrill is about 20+ mintues from the town of Klamath Falls, not too bad a drive. Have fun.

bcollie
It is a long drive to the trial no matter where you stay. It is about an hour from Klamath Falls and probably the same from Merrill. In Klamath Falls, the Cimarron is dog friendly and reasonably priced. The phone number there is 541-882-4601. The red Lion is a bit nicer but also a bit more money. The number there is 541-882-8864. Both are dog friendly.
Maizy
Thanks. Unfortunately we won't have our dogs as this is our vacation...I will miss them terribly. We are just going on vacation and thought we would stop by to watch the trial for the last day. I guess I should have mentioned we wouldn't have the dogs in my OP. We are staying in a cabin at an RV park in Crater Lake for two nights but she couldn't accommodate our entire stay due to a big horse show. So now we have to find a place for another two nights so we can attend the trial. Luckily we have saved a lot on airfare (paid $10 to fly) and we are saving on hotels in Portland for 3 nights (free) so we can afford to splurge a bit if needed. Thanks again.
