smileyzookie
Well last night I found a wet spot on the floor in the living room, and we both thought it was Riven, but I cant imagine her peeing in the house! So tonight I came home from church and the same spot was wet. I think she's peeing. I really think she's goofing off outside barking and sniffing things and not peeing then when she has to go, she's inside and just goes on the carpet... I just want to make sure she doesnt have a UTI. How difficult is it to test for one?
Beth G
Pepper just started doing that too!! Today. I was wodnering the same thing. I wonder if she has another UTI... If I remember right it is about $20 for the test. Then of course there is the fee for the office visit.
WyoBC
That's weird. She may have a UTI you never know. I would have it checked though. I hope they're both ok.
Kat's Dogs
When Daz was a pup she did the same thing - we got her tested. I wasn't taking any chances! Of course, it turned out to be nothing but a dog that likes water but nonetheless, it was worth it to be sure.
Guest amylobdell24
Not hard at all! I'd definitely get it checked just to rule out a UTI or crystals - our clinic charges about $33 for a UA. And you will make your vet staff oh-so-happy if you can keep her from urinating before you take her in...
Beth G
Yeah after a good run they drink alot of water so I'm pretty sure that's what happened. But I will make an appt anyhow. Poppy has also done that too if he drinks too much water after a good game of ball.... these guys just love water!
INU
It also could Incontinence. Does it happen where she takes a nap? Jazzy wet her sleeping spot and turned out it was mild case of Incontinence. Â I bought urine testing kit that you can use at home. I haven't used it yet so I don't know how good and accurate that is. My vet charges around $30 for urine test if you bring the urine. I got several bottles from my vet so that I can just put it in there and ready to test in the future.
smileyzookie
how do you get urine yourself? lol
INU
You can use wide clean pan and follow your dog around My neighbor thought it was entertaining...
Guest amylobdell24
A clean soup ladle works really well, too. If you want to take your own sample, though - make sure that it's okay with your vet & he/she deosn't want a sterile sample - i.e by cysto. smileyzookie
LOL I dont know that Riven would let me get that close with a pan lol. She's really skittish. She hasnt had an accident in 2 days, and I have been leaving her out a LOT longer than I was, so maybe she's getting her squirrel and dog barking time in and she's got excess time to pee? Our backyard isnt fenced so I have a super long lead tied to my deck and let her out on that, so she cant chase things, but she sure lets them know she would LOL. Lunar
My vet wanted me to just get a sample in a pan (I put it in a ziplock bag to take to the vet's). I don't even think they need to examine the dog if all you want is the urine checked. Call and ask them.
